How accurate is SPM tips from AxxCxx books or other sources (seminars, colleges)? 🧐
I get the answer to the question, after spending hundreds on SPM tips book and seminars during my SPM in 2014.
What is in the RM200++ TIPS BOOKS?
The tips book look like this:
There are questions in the book, some marked as “pasti kena”. They make it looked like leaked questions 😳
But those questions are just from state trial papers available for free online. 😆
And they never appeared in my SPM 😂
So seriously be very mindful when you looking at those books for tips.
How about seminars tips?
This depends on the teacher conducting it.
Experienced Guru Cemerlang can teach you the exam techniques, which is really invaluable 😍
Their predictions on karangan topic, though not exactly accurate, are relevant.
For me, the predicted topic for Karangan part B, appeared in part A.
As for phy, chem, bio, math, addmath
The tips from books and seminars are all inaccurate for my exam, kind of useless.
However, in the exam, I have seen 80% of the questions before. 😮
Most are repeated questions from past papers. A smaller portion from trial papers. ( I did 9 years of past papers and lots of trial papers)
But those questions are NOT PREDICTED IN TIPS 😒
For English Essay Title?
As for english essay, I memorise 1 story essay to answer all possible titles.
Essay title tips is not so crucial here, because whatever titles come out, I still answer with the same essay.
As for other parts like novel, the SPM questions I got is different from all state papers, so none of the people predicted it correctly.
SPM TIPS Kill Friendship?
It make me feel sad that SPM TIPS are making a lot of friends become enemy.
How do you feel when your friends refused to share tips from tuition with you?
If you have know some tips, are you willing to share with your friends?
It takes time, money and effort to go to seminars to get those tips. Why would it be shared with others right?
This situation is very painful and happens every year.
Till today, I haven’t figure out a good solution for this situation.
This situation arises because people thought tips are 100% going to come out in exam.
Tips may be quite accurate for your school exams, because your teacher are the one setting it.
But for SPM, most tips are random guesses and never come out.
Bearing this in mind, perhaps it will make you feel a little bit better when you discovered your friends aren’t willing to share you the tips.
The inaccurate tips your friends are hiding won’t have an impact on your result.
Past Papers are the Best Tips
In summary, I want to stress that most of the tips are inaccurate.
But I am not against it. Focusing on study tips topics is a great way to make you feel less nervous for exam.
In my opinion, past papers are the best tips for the exam for Phy, Chem, Bio, Math, AddMath.
If you do enough past questions, it is almost 100% certain some questions will appear in your exam.
In my case, at least 80% of the questions in my exam for Science and Math subjects, I have seen before in either past or trial papers before the actual exam.
From my observation, past questions have higher chances of appearing compared to trial questions.
Look at trial papers for languages subjects
As for languages subjects, past questions will never repeat, hence it is less relevant to do them.
This is why people look at trial papers mostly for languages subjects.
If you have time, doing lots of trial papers will further secure your As.
Most tips I got from multiple sources are completely irrelevant to my SPM results.
Even tips from experienced teacher are just related a little bit, but accuracy is kind of low.
Lastly, this is all my personal experience, your mileage may vary.
Please only take whatever make sense to you, like how you would when you got an SPM tips somewhere.
Thank you so much for reading till the end.
If you have found this article helpful, I warmly invite you to share it with your friends.
